A Honeywell home security system is designed to help homeowners protect their homes against burglaries, intrusions and other threats such as fire, smoke and carbon monoxide. The company has been a major presence in the residential and commercial security space for several decades. Honeywell currently delivers a range of managed home protection services for homeowners around the country. It also sells a range of standalone Honeywell home security products directly to consumers who want to take advantage of its technology, but do not want to sign up for a full-fledged home monitoring service.
Burglar Alarms and Life-Control Systems
The range of currently available Honeywell home security systems include burglar alarms, heat and carbon monoxide detectors, flood and temperature detection technologies, motion sensors for indoor and outdoor use, digital security products and home security lighting. Each of its burglar alarms and life-control technologies are equipped with either an ultra-compact touchscreen control panel or an all-in-one touchscreen panel that allows the devices to be centrally monitored and managed.
Honeywell Lynx Touch
The current top-of-the-line Honeywell home security system is the Lynx Touch wireless burglar alarm system. The product is part of Honeywell’s family of self-contained wireless controls for managing residential security systems and life-control systems. Lynx comprises of a high-resolution 4.7” color-graphic touchscreen, and an icon-driven navigation menu that homeowners can use to quickly set up and manage the security controls in their home.
Integrated Monitoring and Management
Lynx can be used to set up and manage up to 64 wireless security controls. Homeowners can use the panel to arm or disarm specific areas or zones within their homes. They can use the Lynx panel to set reminders, trigger automatic notifications in case of an emergency, control thermostat settings and even view family pictures and video. Lynx is wireless enabled and also supports an optional GSM cellular capability. This allows homeowners to access and manipulate the control panel using their smartphones.
Centralized Home Security Control
Lynx can be used to manage and control a whole range of Honeywell home security systems. Homeowners, for instance, can easily synchronize Lynx with their wireless Honeywell door and window sensors, glass break detectors and indoor and outdoor motion detectors. The sensors can then be monitored on a continuous basis. Homeowners can also integrate their home security cameras with Lynx and get live streaming video of their property on their smartphone at any time. The Lynx Honeywell home security panel can even be programmed to take a snapshot or a video recording at specified intervals, and send the picture or recording to the homeowner’s smartphone on demand.
